PTCRB & GCF Certification

PTCRB Certification

GSM and W-CDMA mobile stations supporting North American frequency bands require PTCRB (PCS Type Certification Review Board) Certification in order to be accepted by the North American network operators.  A PTCRB certification ensures a device is compliant with the appropriate technological standards, regulatory requirements (FCC and/or IC) and certain operator requirements (e.g. Over-the-Air RF performance).

As a PTCRB accredited lab, CETECOM is capable of performing the full scope of services needed for PTCRB Certification:

GCF Certification

The Global Certification Forum (GCF) has its own voluntary certification program that ensures compliance with the technological standards.  Although GCF certification is voluntary, manufacturers who sell their products to major European network operators are required to have this certification.

In addition to conformance testing, GCF certification requires testing the mobile station in 5 GCF qualified networks (Field Trials).  CETECOM is a member of the GCF Forum and is capable of performing the full scope of services for GCF certification:

  • Conformance Testing for 2G/2.5G Technologies: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, AMR (900/1800)
  • Conformance Testing for 3G Technologies: W-CDMA, UMTS, HSDPA (FDD I)
  • SIM/USIM Testing
  • Radiated Spurious Emissions testing
  • Field Trials in GCF Qualified Networks
