Bluetooth® PRD 2.0 Effective February 1st

February 1, 2007: Bellevue, WA

As of February 1, 2007, Bluetooth® SIG members must qualify according to the new program requirements defined in PRD 2.0.  With the new Self Declaration Process, members are now able to qualify and list their design/end products on their own in lieu of a BQE (Bluetooth Qualification Expert – formerly BQB).

Although members have the freedom to qualify and list on their own, the Bluetooth SIG still recommends the use of a BQE for guidance through the listing process and compliance folder review.  Obtaining a BQE signoff on a product’s compliance folder will waive the random product audit performed by the Bluetooth SIG under the QEP (Qualification Enforcement Program).  A BQTF (Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility) is still required for CAT A testing for RF, Baseband, and Link Manager layers.

CETECOM Inc. is continually striving to make the qualification process as simple and smooth as possible for our clients.  As a BQTF with two BQEs in-house we offer the full range of qualification and consulting services needed for a timely listing.
