CWG-RF Performance Mandatory for CDMA Devices

March 1, 2007: Washington D.C.

The CTIA announced that CDMA devices implementing both cellular and Wi-Fi technologies are required to undergo CWG (Converged Wireless Group) RF Performance testing for CTIA Certification.

This is one of the first steps in ensuring proper radio performance as more dual-mode Wi-Fi / mobile devices make their way onto the market.  CWG-RF Performance will be required for GSM and UMTS devices once it has been approved by the PTCRB (PCS Type Certification Review Board).
