GPRS & E-GPRS OTA Testing to Become Mandatory
October, 2006: Washington, D.C.
In upcoming events, the CTIA Over-the-Air (OTA) test plan version 2.2 will soon be implemented. One major addition to the test plan is TRP and TIS testing for GPRS and E-GPRS becoming mandatory for PTCRB approval.
There are also UMTS test specifications for TRP and TIS measurements. Previously, test plans were developed via 3GPP TS 25.101 V7.4.0 Release 7 for UMTS OTA testing. The new UMTS TRP and TIS test procedure provides a standardized procedure where there once was not one.
Some other additions include: adding pass/fail target values for CDMA and intermediate channel testing as well as adding TRP and TIS test procedures for CDMA 1xEV-DO and 1xRTT.
The OTA test plan version 2.2 is scheduled to be approved by the end of October 2006 and will become mandatory 30 days after.
